Greg is gone deer hunting = time for me to finish a long overdo update:

AUGUST

Greg's friend Scott visited and they played a little wiffle ball.What was the final score again Scott? Har, har. Really though, we love having you visit!

Labor Day weekend meant some Grade A camping in the Uintas with the Willis crew. We had a great time hiking, fishing, 4-wheeling, camp firing, dutch-ovening, etc. Greg threw his first snowball of the season thanks to the snowfall that collapsed our tent the last night-luckily we were sleeping in the back of Ma & Pa Willis' Honda Pilot.

SEPTEMBER

We went for a long overdo hike up Adams Canyon.

Greg and his brothers (Leigh and Brad) competed in the Ogden Valley Triathlon @ Pineview Reservoir.

We've made better ones since these but there were still TASTY!

We were invited to watch the Weber State Homecoming Football game in President Millner's box. Lots of good food and fancy company - we felt like VIP's. We highly recommend it :)

A Willis Summer (Part III)

A continuation of some summer happenings...

JULY

We took a road trip to Mesquite/Vegas over the 4th of July weekend to see Rancid at the House of Blues (because I don't have a problem with spoiling Greg :) We didn't take a bunch of pics-actually, the only ones we have are still on our phones so we'll take care of that later. It was a blast and we got to see a billion fireworks on the 4th so I was happy. I did however miss the infamous Kaysville 4th of July parade which I will somehow drag Greg to someday (he's not the parade type). All you Kaysvillians know what he's missing though, so help me out! The campaign for the Kaysville parade 2009 begins now! As long as it doesn't become lame after what happened this year...

When we got home we found that some of our baby frogs had perished in the heat :( So we decided it was time to release them back into the wild. Greg was a little sad as you will note in the first picture.

July 12th meant it was time for a second tri.

Echo Triathlon 07.12.08

Echo was a fun race and we got to see some friends from our old ward. Greg ended up with a good 'ol cramp in his calf though after riding a different/smaller bike (his new one hadn't arrived yet). Thanks Leigh (Greg's brother) for letting him borrow it though!


We finally fired up Greg's motorcycle and did a little off-roading.

We didn't get any great action shots other than Wendy conquering a mountain (aka boulder) and Greg inspecting a small animal skull but we weren't afraid to get some air (I think I scared Greg, truth be told).

And now it's August. We still can't believe it either!

A Willis Summer (Part II)

Summer highlights continued...

MAY

Once back to reality, we (here meaning Greg and our Willis dad) removed (chopped, pulled, dragged) some nasty bushes that donned the front and back of our house. You can see one still standing on the right side of the front yard.

Good work Greg! I'll just stand here and take pictures :)

JUNE

Then we got a wild idea to catch some tadpoles at the Weber River Parkway in Riverdale. First, you need a net. A wire hanger and old nylon should do!

We also like to go for walks at the Parkway. Sometimes Greg loses his shoe in the mucky pond :)

Other times he finds a yucky hat.

Then there was rockclimbing with friends from work (Wendy's first time ever).

Greg is near the top.

I was a natural (according to Greg's boss) and I loved it.

The first Triathlon of the season: Cache Valley (06.21)

And that's how it's done. Greg set a PR at this race--10 minutes faster than his best time last year. Awesome!
